Back in Business

Over the years business apparel has adapted from skirt suits, to high-waisted slacks, to designer dresses. Gina's Closet applauds these transformations in fashion and we support the freedom of fashion within the workplace. That's why we put together a Business Woman collection that is cutting edge, comfortable, and sure to make you feel confident in the workplace. This collection features a patterned LOFT dress-sophisticated navy with the bright flairs to bring a whimsical sense. Around the dress, we cinched a brown elastic and faux leather belt to show off a little figure while still keeping the attire professional.

To accessorize, we paired brown pumps with elastic straps (for added comfort- we know you women work hard!) and a brown clutch. Tip: While pairing browns together can often seem too "matchy-matchy," try differing their shades a bit. Mixing hues of browns can keep from seeming to put together, instead of giving off the "I just dress this confidently everyday" vibe.

Work attire doesn't have to mean black slacks and a white blouse anymore! Let your fashion free and feel confident in your own style at work!

Come Sail Away With Me

Nautical style is always a fun way to dress up your summer, but sometimes it can be downright sea worthy tragedy! Gina's Closet developed some tips for a fabulous nautical ensemble, check it out:

First, lets not confuse stripes with nautical, ladies! just because it's blue and white striped doesn't  mean you should clad yourself in it head to toe, that's an anchor of bad fashion!

Next, don't think that you have to look like Pop-Eye or Olive Oil to be considered nautical! There's always a stylish flair that you can bring to these trends to make them your own.

Gina's Closet styled a nautical outfit for Summer 2012 using a simple blue and white Wet Seal striped babydoll dress, paired with a braided beige and tan belt to break up the color scheme and added a tan hat as well to tie the belt in. Of course, we had to add some red for flair, so we paired basic red sandal with a radical zig zag heel, and a red wristlet. Note that your red's and tan's don't have to be the same shade or hue; this isn't 2000, matching to perfection is old news.

Try out your own nautical style today and tell us how it goes for you! Remember, there's always tons of style idea's at Gina's Closet!

Be Bright, Be Bold, Be NEON

We've all seen in, whether on the Chanel runway or in the local Target, Neon is making a huge break in the fashion industry; but be careful, there's a thin line between a dash of color and a neon catastrophe! To help you find the perfect balance, Gina's Closet has done in-store and out-of-store hard research to bring you the best ways to wear this new trend.

To start, let's not assume that all neon is good neon! It is best to start with small dashes and accents of neon perhaps adding a neon clutch or belt to a neutral colored outfit. As seen in this outfit below, a neon shirt accents the neutral tones of the outfit, making it fun without being wild. This is perfect for a summer day of fun in the sun on the boardwalk, or even a casual trip to the mall with your girlfriends.

Once you've mastered the look of subtle neon, feel free to take it a step further by adding serious contrast to your look! See the outfit below for a sassy idea of what to wear for a night out on the town! This outfit features one large neon piece with the other accents being neutral. Although still mixing neons and neutrals, the type of neon apparel can make a big difference between high-style and highlighter. Be careful ladies, neon is nice but disco is dead!
Feeling exceptionally daring? For women who want to be the star of the show wherever they go, here are some neon ideas that are sure to keep all eyes on you! (In the best way of course!)
These outfits are based mostly on neon pieces, but as shown below (Runway- Nanette Lepor), they do not feature an abundance of accessories. This is the trick! Find the perfect balance of apparel and accessories; pick one or the other. We recommend large neon pieces with minimal accessories, or minimal neon with added flair to make the outfit POP!
